The embedded control is the control computer that is integrated into the robot. It is used to run robot programs, calculate the axis positions, handle the IO etc. without requiring a PC being connected.

In robots with a control cabinet it is the module that the ethernet cable connects to, in igus ReBeL robots it is part of the base.

In newer robots the embedded control is based on a Raspberry Pi, older robots use Phytec single board computers. The robot control software that runs on the embedded control is called RobotControl (since V14) or TinyCtrl (until V13).
